Channel 12 is reporting, “The Wayzata boys repeated as state Class AA champions in boys track and field Saturday with a handful of local athletes winning gold medals. Individual boys winners included Wayzata’s Jaret Carpenter in the 1600 meters, Evan McClellon of Armstrong in the 100 and the Hopkins boys 4-x-800 meter relay.“

The Wayzata boys track and field team usually shows up on the medal stand at the state meet, and the Trojans look solid again this spring. Wayzata easily outdistanced Stillwater and Rosemount Friday at Wayzata High School, scoring 104.5 points to 35 for Stillwater and 27.5 for Rosemount.
