Katie Kelzenberg has made a name for herself in more than one arena at Wayzata High School. A standout in girls basketball and volleyball, the multi-sport senior just added another historic chapter to her legacy—this time in track and field.
At the Section 6AAA meet, Kelzenberg unleashed a record-breaking discus throw that set a new section and school record. The mark is now the best in Minnesota this year and ranks 21st nationally, cementing her status as one of the top throwers in the country. She also set a new record throwing the shot put 41’8″ this week.
While her throw turned heads, those who’ve followed her athletic career weren’t surprised. Kelzenberg’s name is already etched in Trojan history for her toughness on the basketball court and dominance at the net in volleyball. Now, she’s closing out her high school career with a performance that will be remembered for years to come.
Next stop: Clemson University, where she’s committed to compete for the Tigers in track and field.
