Jack Shink. Submitted photo. Wayzata High School freshman Jack Shink has been named Minnesota’s 2016 Youth Ambassador for the Tourette’s Syndrome Association, an organization dedicated to making life better for all people affected by tic disorders.
Jack represents the state of Minnesota by assisting in media-related activities to spread awareness and raise funds for research and treatment. He shares his personal story, what Tourette’s has meant for him, what it means for those around him, and he challenges people to think about their definition of inclusion.
In March he attended the Tourette’s Syndrome Association’s national conference in Washington DC with 49 other state ambassadors for leadership training and to lobby with both Senator Franken and Senator Klobuchar.

Guess who is turning 50! Current and former Greenwood Elementary staff, students, families and community members will celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary on Friday, May 6 between 4 and 6 p.m. There will be food with pricing reminiscent of the 1960s and a DJ playing songs from the decade Greenwood opened (1965) as well as current hits.
At 6 p.m., the party will transition into the gym where there will be a short ceremony followed by a classic hit movie from the 1960’s. Feel free to bring a blanket to spread out on the gym floor, or sit in the chairs that will be set up for the movie.
The celebration will go on, rain or shine. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the entire celebration will take place in the Greenwood gym.
For more information, please contact Greenwood Principal Brad Gustafson at brad.gustafson@wayzata.k12.mn.us. We hope to see you there!
