Greenwood Elementary Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Guess who is turning 50! Current and former Greenwood Elementary staff, students, families and community members will celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary on Friday, May 6 between 4 and 6 p.m. There will be food with pricing reminiscent of the 1960s and a DJ playing songs from the decade Greenwood opened (1965) as well as current hits.

At 6 p.m., the party will transition into the gym where there will be a short ceremony followed by a classic hit movie from the 1960’s. Feel free to bring a blanket to spread out on the gym floor, or sit in the chairs that will be set up for the movie.

The celebration will go on, rain or shine. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the entire celebration will take place in the Greenwood gym.

For more information, please contact Greenwood Principal Brad Gustafson at We hope to see you there!
