WAYZATA—Local leaders will gather tomorrow for the Meet the Mayors: State of the Cities luncheon, hosted by the Wayzata West Metro Chamber at the Wayzata Country Club. The annual event brings together city officials and community members for a discussion on the opportunities and challenges facing the region.
This year’s panel features Wayzata’s newly elected Mayor Andrew Mullin, along with Minnetonka Mayor Brad Wiersum, Plymouth Mayor Jeff Wosje, and Long Lake Mayor Charlie Miner. Attendees will hear firsthand about city budgets, tax policies, new development projects, public safety initiatives, and legislative priorities affecting the west metro.
A statement from the Chamber describes the event as a deep dive into what drives these mayors to public service, what makes them tick, and what they see for the future of their cities. “We will also explore the opportunities and challenges facing these west metro communities, talk a bit about city budgets and taxes, discover what priorities these cities are tracking this Legislative Session and how they impact the community, check in on new development and redevelopment proposals, discuss public safety efforts, learn about updates on park and recreation opportunities, and ask them what their highs and lows were for the year.”
With 64 registered guests so far, the luncheon is set to be a well-attended forum for residents, business owners, and local officials. The discussion will provide insight into how city leaders plan to navigate growth, infrastructure, and community well-being in the years ahead.
The event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Wayzata Country Club. Chamber members receive discounted pricing upon registration, and nonmembers are also welcome to attend.
