“ROCK OUT” on Lake Minnetonka Saturday, February 12, 2011
Since 1984 hundreds of golfers from all around the metro area have gathered on Lake Minnetonka in February to participate in the Wayzata Chilly Open. Saturday, February 12, 2011 marks the 27th annual frozen golf tournament on Wayzata Bay.
Golfers play nine holes of frozen golf with tennis balls on one of two courses, sponsored by Roger Fazendin REALTORS, Inc. and Lawngevity Lawn & Snow and Outdoor Excapes. This year Wayzata will “ROCK N’ ROLL” out on the ice! Each of the 18 golf holes will represent a different rock group or era. Participants will enjoy all the food, fun and frozen festivities this great event has to offer!
To keep the golfers warm during this “chilly” event, all-you-can-eat chili will be available at the Chili Cook Off. Wayzata Area Restaurants will compete for the best chili recipe at the 19th Hole, sponsored by Edina Realty – Wayzata/Lake Minnetonka. Golfers will also enjoy live music by a local favorite – LIVEWIRE, which is sponsored by Village Chevrolet from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Spectators are welcome!
