The Wayzata softball team shook off a tough 2-1 loss to Minnetonka on Monday and rebounded with an 11-6 victory over non-conference opponent Mounds View on Tuesday.
Senior Sarah Laudner was responsible for a good chunk of the offensive production by going 2 for 3 at the plate with a homerun and five RBI’s. Laudner is now hitting .364 on the season as has a team-high 14 RBI’s.
Sophomore Anna Gustafson also turned in a nice performance by going 4 for 5 with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored. Senior Allie Siu raised her team-leading batting average to .475 with a 3 for 4 day at the plate.
Senior pitcher Anna Twinem gave up a season-high five earned runs, but was still able to pick up her eighth win of the season while striking out nine opposing hitters.
The Trojans (8-3) will be back in action on Thursday afternoon when they travel to Edina for a 4:15 p.m. game.
