LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Councilman Andrew Mullin Encouraged by East Traffic Action

Good Morning Neighbors-

Before I left for vacation this morning, I wanted to quickly update you on the result of the Public Forum on East Neighborhood traffic. After a fairly lengthy discussion, our city has decided to “test” closing off various entry and exit points to the neighborhood to better understand the implications of such closures to our community and its impact to eliminating cut-thru traffic. City staff will be preparing detailed study parameters for review that will include the timing, measurements for success/failure (including gathering input from the neighborhood), communication plan, investment required etc.

While the specifics of the test have not been finalized, I am encouraged that specific action is being taken to address the issue of traffic in the East Neighborhood. Stay tuned for details, as always feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. Please be patient as the details are finalized. The most important thing we can do as a neighborhood is to keep the lines of communication open with our city but more importantly with your neighbors so that premature conclusions/judgements are not made.

Regards,

Andrew Mullin

Andrew Mullin is a Wayzata City Council Member and lives in the East Neighborhood.
