The City of Wayzata has indicated that applications for the annual Boat Slip Lottery are due January 13, 2009. The drawing will be held on February 3, 2009. You can get an application at Wayzata City Hall, or from the City Website here.
Pictured left is the first boat on Wayzata Bay for the year 2008. Seems like the boating season is too short, doesn’t it?

It’s that time of year again when fall colors begin to show on the trees, Friday nights are spent under the lights watching football, and the boating season on Lake Minnetonka and Wayzata Bay comes to an end.
Lexus and I took a dip in the cool waters of Wayzata Bay on Saturday. Most of the other boaters we saw did not venture into the water because the recent storms that hit Wayzata stirred up the cold water. Stay tuned to Wayzata.com for the most recent conditions of Lake Minnetonka all summer long.
This photo shows me fending her off toe nails as she dog paddles towards me.
Elisha and I spent another wonderful day walking Lake Street in Wayzata this afternoon. The sun was out, the temperature was 68 degrees, couples young and old, canine companions were just a few of the sights and sounds. One very different thing over last week was the large handful of sailboats, cruisers, runabouts and classic boats that were zipping across Wayzata Bay / Lake Minnetonka.
Elisha and I spent a couple of hours walking around downtown Wayzata today. It was 69 degrees and wonderfully warm after what seems like the longest exit from winter in recent memory. There were tons of people out walking and enjoying the warm sunshine and the views of Lake Minnetonka and Wayzata Bay.
While we were there, we observed couples out walking, young children playing on swingsets, plenty of canine companions, and someone out in a boat running through the remains of the ice in front of the Boatworks building! We could here the ice crunching against the hull of the fiberglass boat. That cannot be good for the boat!!!
