
WAYZATA — The November 2025 Wayzata School Board election will feature a competitive field, with six candidates filing for three open seats.
The terms currently held by Milind Sohoni, Heidi Kader, and Sarah Johansen are set to expire at the end of the year. All three seats carry four-year terms.
Filing to run are:
- Laura Conway — filed August 1
- Julie Joseph — filed August 11
- Heidi Kader — incumbent, filed July 29
- Kate Knight — filed August 12
- Alicia Liddle — filed July 29
- Milind Sohoni — incumbent, filed August 11
Johansen did not file for re-election.
The election will be held Tuesday, November 4, with voters in Wayzata Public Schools (ISD #284) selecting three candidates from the list. Early voting is scheduled to begin in late September.
Amy Guise, Election Clerk for Wayzata Public Schools, noted that candidate information is updated quickly as the filing period closes. “Today is the final day for filing and the site is updated within the hour of submissions,” Guise said. “I can take submissions up until 5 p.m. today, so their site will be fully updated by 6 p.m.”
The Wayzata School Board governs the policies, budget, and oversight of the district, which serves students across Wayzata, Plymouth, and surrounding communities.
