WAYZATA — The Wayzata Police Department is inviting local families to dig in and have some fun at its inaugural Sandcastles and Squads event, set for Tuesday, July 29, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. along the sandy shoreline of Lake Minnetonka.
This new community gathering offers a sandcastle-building contest with a special prize awarded to one lucky winner. The department will also provide free treats and water, plus complimentary shovels and sand pails for kids—while supplies last.
“Come have some fun in the sun and build some sandcastles with our officers and staff!” the department announced in its public invitation.
The event aims to strengthen connections between residents and law enforcement in a relaxed, lakeside setting. There’s no registration required—just show up ready to dig, build, and enjoy an afternoon of community spirit.
