Local favorite McCormick’s Pub & Restaurant is preparing to paint Wayzata green with an energetic, Irish-themed celebration spanning three festive days from March 15–17. Known for their traditional Irish hospitality, the staff at McCormick’s are expecting residents and visitors alike to flock to the popular venue at 331 Broadway Avenue South for an authentic taste of Irish culture.
The weekend kicks off Saturday, March 15, with bagpipers serenading patrons at 1:00 pm, setting the stage for an afternoon filled with lively entertainment. “Blame Not the Bard Band” will keep the spirits high beginning at 2:00 pm, followed by the beloved Hudson Irish Dancers at 6:00 pm. Guests are encouraged to put on their dancing shoes as the party shifts gears at 7:00 pm for a DJ dance party led by DJ Chime.
Sunday morning offers a more laid-back family-friendly atmosphere. Brunch will be served starting at 9:00 am, and young guests are invited to enjoy face painting between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
On St. Patrick’s Day itself, Monday, March 17, doors will open at 10:00 am alongside a special Catholic Mass officiated by Father Mike VanSloun. Music lovers will have plenty of options throughout the day with the “We Lucky Few Band” performing at 11:30 am, another rousing bagpipe performance at 2:30 pm, and a reprise by the Hudson Irish Dancers at 3:30 pm. Local favorite Jeff James will round out the celebrations with live music starting at 4:00 pm.
Alongside the entertainment, guests will savor traditional corned beef dishes and the iconic Guinness beer, staples of McCormick’s well-loved St. Patrick’s festivities. The pub’s beer garden, a seasonal highlight for locals, will also be open for the celebrations.
“We warmly invite everyone to come and celebrate our St. Patrick’s Day event with us at McCormick’s Pub. It’s a joyful weekend filled with great music, delicious Irish food, and plenty of good craic, stated Tim McCormick. “Whether you’re Irish or just Irish for the day, we promise you’ll feel at home at McCormick’s.”
