Wayzata Chamber Rebrands as Wayzata West Metro Chamber, Expanding Vision and Reach

After 85 years of championing local businesses, the Greater Wayzata Area Chamber of Commerce has unveiled a bold new identity: the Wayzata West Metro Chamber. The announcement, made today, introduces not just a name change but also a fresh logo and a vision that embraces growth and inclusivity.

Chamber President Becky Pierson explained the transformation during the unveiling. “Our new name and look better reflect who we are and where we’re headed. This is about growth, inclusivity, and opportunity. While our name has changed, our values remain the same,” Pierson said. “We’re still the friendly, welcoming Chamber you know, and we’re more energized than ever to support local businesses and strengthen our communities.”

The rebranding reflects the Chamber’s expanding influence across neighboring west metro communities, including Minnetonka, Plymouth, Orono, and beyond. By adopting the Wayzata West Metro Chamber name, the organization seeks to underscore its role as a regional connector for businesses in one of Minnesota’s most dynamic economic corridors.

What the Change Means for the Community

The Chamber assured members and the public that its commitment to its core values and programs remains steadfast. With over 400 members and 150 annual events, including beloved festivals that draw over 125,000 attendees annually, the Chamber is broadening its scope to foster stronger regional collaboration.

Key changes include expanded networking opportunities, increased programming in collaboration with multiple cities, and enhanced services for members. According to the Chamber, this evolution will ensure businesses of all sizes benefit from broader visibility and connections.

A Community of “Doers”

Pierson emphasized that while the new name reflects a forward-looking mission, the Chamber’s welcoming spirit remains unchanged. “We are a community of doers,” she said. “Together, we’re shaping the future of local business.”

To celebrate the rebrand, the Chamber is hosting its Annual Holiday Celebration event on Thursday, December 12, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. This event will bring together members and community leaders to toast the organization’s exciting next chapter.

Why the Name Change Matters

The decision to rebrand was fueled by the Chamber’s growing membership and regional presence. “The name Wayzata West Metro Chamber highlights our inclusive approach and invites businesses across the area to collaborate and thrive,” said Pierson.

Serving communities like Corcoran, Hopkins, Long Lake, and Medina, in addition to its Wayzata roots, the Chamber aims to position itself as a hub of innovation and economic vitality for the Twin Cities’ western suburbs.

What’s Next

As the Wayzata West Metro Chamber embarks on this new chapter, local businesses are encouraged to join the effort. Membership includes access to exclusive resources, networking opportunities, and a shared commitment to building a vibrant regional economy.
