The Wayzata Boys’ Basketball (26-1) team clashed with the Edina Hornets (16-12) last night at Wayzata High School in Class 4A Section 6 Semi-Final play.

In the opening half, the Trojans relied on precise long-range shooting to create and maintain a lead over Edina.
Isaac Olmstead drained five 3-pointers, while Jackson McAndrew added four of his own before halftime.
In the 2nd half, Christian Wiggins and Ben Shaffer continued the 3-point shooting scoring two 3-pointers each.
Wyatt McBeth also contributed greatly in the 2nd half scoring 4 field goals and hitting 4 free throws.
Edina threatened the Trojans early in the 2nd half, but solid defense by Wayzata kept the Hornets at bay.
McAndrew led all scorers with 24 points, Olmstead had 19, McBeth had 16 points, and Shaffer had 13 points.
Christian Wiggins finished with 8 points, Brayden Sandmann had 2 points, Daniel Grubesic had 2 points, and Drew Nepstad had 2 points.
Edina finished the season 16-12 and place 3rd in the Lake Conference.
Daniel Molhoek had 20 points for the Hornets, Josiak Coleman had 16, Billy DeMars had 13 as did Waylon Erlandson.
Wayzata will host Hopkins (23-5) on Tuesday night at Wayzata High School at 7pm.
The Wayzata Athletic Department is expecting a capacity crowd, so get your tickets and seats early.
