Wayzata Gymnastics Edges Hopkins in Key Lake Conference Meet

In a closely contested early-season Lake Conference meet, the Wayzata gymnastics team secured a narrow victory over Hopkins, winning 142.8 to 142.25.

Both teams are anticipated to be the top contenders in the conference this season, with Hopkins having claimed the conference championship the previous year.

Hopkins’ Annabelle Speers, an all-state senior, clinched the all-around title with a score of 37.525, while Wayzata‘s Mikaela Lundvall impressed with a score of 36.675.

Wayzata’s Kylie Uhfeil excelled on the balance beam, winning with a score of 9.3, while Speers dominated in vault, bars, and floor exercise. Looking ahead, both the Royals and Trojans are expected to vie for the Section 6AA team title in February.
