Boys Basketball now 3-0 with 83-81 win over Totino

The Wayzata Boys Basketball Team looks poised to play some great basketball all season long and make a deep run into the State Playoffs in March.

Saturday December 8th the defending 4A State Champion Trojans took on the defending 3A State Champions Totino Grace.

Wayzata‘s Jackson McAndrew scored a last second floater over a Totino defender while notching 38 points and 11 rebounds in the contest. Wyatt McBeth had 11 points, and Isaac Olmstead had 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists.

Watch for Christian Wiggins to make a big impact on this season as well. The transfer from Benilde St. Margaret had 10 points against Maple Grove including a 3 pointer and a subsequent free throw, and a couple of alley-oop dunks during the contest as the Trojans dominated the Crimson in all aspects of the game.

If there were a possession that summed up @WayzataBHoops 75-42 win over Maple Grove last night, it would be this first clip of a @JacksonMcAndrew block leading to a @_CWiggins1 slam. Head Coach Bryan Schnettler was pleased but still saw some room for improvement from the squad after the Maple Grove game, “Our defense has been good to start the year. There are still a lot of things to improve on, but the guys have played with great effort and that has been fun to see.”

The Boys host Shakopee Tuesday December 12th and travel to Prior Lake on Friday December 15th.

This team is going to be fun to watch this season!
