Your Wayzata Football Trojans (1-3) defeated the Minnetonka Skippers (1-3) in the annual Battle for the Bay Bell at Einer Anderson Stadium last Friday evening.
The Trojans used their rushing attack featuring Anthony Richmond and the Offensive Line to run over Minnetonka. Richmond rushed 36 times for 195 yards and two touchdowns behind the Wayzata Moving Company featuring Alec Rasmussen, Jaxon Nelson, Brian Glomstad, Brett Kelzenberg, Tyler Magnuson, Luke Bodine, and Jack Kinsey.

Other offensive leaders included QB Ryan Harvey who completed 8 passes on 14 attempts for 127 yards and 1 touch down. Luke Bodine had 4 catches for 72 yards, Jack Kinsey had 1 reception for 10 yards and a TD, Julian Diedrich had 2 receptions for 37 yards, and Hunter Berthiaume had 1 reception for 8 yards.

Defensively, and an aggressive defensive game plan by Coach Jordan Halverson kept the Skippers out of the End Zone all evening, “The boys did a really good job tonight, made some big plays, big turnovers–in the end zone by Eddie Beeninga it was really fun watching them play tonight. Other team leaders included Jack Clausen with a takeaway and 6 tackles, Tommy Hamann with 6 tackles and 2 sacks, Drew Berkland with 11 tackles and 2 sacks, Drew Streeter with 3 tackles, and Fox Knutson with 3 tackles and 1 sack.

The Trojans move to 1-3 on the season and will host Shakopee (2-2) who absolutely drummed Stillwater last week 49-0 behind the play of QB David Bigaouette and running backs Trevon Lusian and Seth Bakken.
