This story ran in the Minneapolis Journal, May 25, 1905 and details concessions sought by the Great Northern railroad that caused a great debate at the time. The railroad asked to add two additional feet of fill on top of the 18 inches that was under the tracks next to Lake Minnetonka, and offered in return a new railroad station and steamboat dock.
