Giving KARE to Hammer

“It’s not only a fun evening, but you learn more throughout the experience you have,” said Bridget Ulrich, development and communication specialist with Hammer Residences.

Hammer Residences, often referred to as “Hammer”, is a non-profit organization based in Wayzata. Their mission: to provide adults and children, with developmental disabilities, the opportunity to experience life to the fullest.

Hammer has held their largest, annual fundraiser, “Reach for Ralph”, with the theme ‘making dreams come true’. That is exactly what they did with one of their own residents. “She is a HUGE Vikings’ fan and [she] went with, KARE 11’s, Rena Sarigianopoulos to Winter Park! Not only did she meet Adrian Peterson, she went home with autographed items,” said Ulrich.

They are continuing the tradition of the fundraiser on Thursday, July 21, 2011. It will be the fifth year this event is put on.

BMW of Minnetonka will house the event which consists of: live jazz music, “nostalgic food” by SEVEN, over 100 silent auction items, nine live auction items, a classic car show, a vintage photo shoot (for the guests) and is being hosted by KARE 11’s Rena Sarigianopoulos.

There will be valet parking, included in the ticket price, and special greetings at the door from some of Hammers’ own residents.
They hope to raise $75,000 in the night. It will help benefit all of the residents and organizations’ costs. Tickets range from $45 to $80 for VIP Retro Cocktail Class Admission. Click here for details on tickets.
