The Wayzata High School synchronized swim team won its fifth consecutive state championship on May 27.

The team placed first in 13 of the 15 events and scored a meet high 169 points. The team took 23 routines to the state meet this year and 21 of these routines earned points by placing in the top seven. This is the first team in Wayzata High School’s history to win five consecutive state championship titles.
In addition to the team victory, several individual first-place awards were earned by WHS swimmers including:
- Hannah Ogren and Amanda Urke – First place in solo
- Hannah Ogren and Colleen Donlin – First place in short duet
- Katrin Ree and Haley Rugemer – First place in long duet
- Natalie Bodin and Cayla Ebert – First place in extended duet
- Colleen Donlin, Lucy Liu and Trisha Morrison – First place in short trio
- Katrin Ree, Haley Ruegemer and Amanda Urke – First place in long trio
- Colleen Donlin – First place in short figures
- Amanda Urke – First place in long figures
- Natalie Bodin – First place in extended figures
- Lydia Boike, Colleen Donlin, Morgan Foote, Kaitlyn Haller, Lucy Liu, Trisha Morrison, Hannah Ogren and Emily Turnquist– First place short team
- Amy Erickson, Gillian Mangan, Katrin Ree, Haley Ruegemer, Amanda Urke and Hannah Weas – First place in long team
- Natalie Bodin, Cayla Ebert, Alese Halvorson, Paige Muncy, Kjirsten Ree, Ruth Schaefer, Laurel Streed and Tara Williams – First place in extended team
Five students were also named All-State athletes and include seniors Natalie Bodin, Cayla Ebert and Alese Halvorson; and sophomores Paige Muncy and Kjirsten Ree.
Team members of the WHS synchronized swim team include the following: Seniors Natalie Bodin, Larissa Borg, Cayla Ebert, Audrey Elsner, Alese Halvorson, Becca Hunkins, Riley Mangan, Katelyn Osmek, Erika Weimer and Tara Williams; juniors Nicole Kullback, Ellie Magnuson, Kathleen Poppendeck and Laurel Streed; sophomores Morgan Foote, Mara Halvorson, Megan He, Gillian Mangan, Paige Muncy, Kjirsten Ree, Ruth Schaefer and Samantha Snidarich; freshmen Lydia Boike, Kaitlyn Haller, Trisha Morrison and Emily Turnquist; eighth graders Amy Erickson, Katrin Ree, Haley Ruegemer, Amanda Urke and Hannah Weas; and seventh graders Colleen Donlin, Lucy Liu and Hannah Ogren.

The team is coached by head coach Signe Hensel, Ali Bodin, Rachel Hoffart and Ann Rushfeldt.
