Wayzata High School Football Coach
Brad Anderson, a 22-year coaching veteran, begins his 13th season as head coach of the Wayzata High School’s Trojan Football team this fall. His coaching career began at Henry Sibley High School in West St. Paul, where he served as both an assistant coach and offensive coordinator (1989-1992).
Trojan career highlights include: State 5A Champions (2005, 2008, 2010), State 5A Runner Up (2004), State Playoff Participant 7 out of 12 years, 5A “Coach of the Year” (2005, 2010), & MN All-Star Game’s Metro Head Coach (2002). Brad’s head coaching record stands at 116 wins-24 losses in 12 seasons (.828 winning percentage). Graduates from his program include: Marion Barber III (Dallas Cowboys), Dominique Barber (Houston Texans), and James Laurinaitis (St. Louis Rams).
Anderson graduated from Augsburg College with a BA in Biology (1988). He received an MA in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of St. Thomas (1995) and an Administrative License from the University of St. Mary’s (2010).
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he is also an administrator in the Wayzata Public School System. Brad, his wife Maari, and their two daughters, Barrett (18) and Isabelle (16), are long-time members of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Brad will speak about how he incorporates faith into his coaching and his daily life.
