Reporting party called from Texas, indicating she had purchased a used vehicle from a Wayzata car dealership with the intent of donating it to an African orphanage. She had been corresponding via internet with the person who ran the orphanage, but he was unavailable to speak on the telephone due to working on an off-shore oil rig near Florida. Reporting party later felt she was possibly being “scammed”. Car later located in New York City prior to being shipped to Africa.
