Anna French, sixth-grade student at East Middle School, earned first place in the state and Monika Weimer, seventh-grade student at EMS, earned third place in the state in the InvestWrite Essay Contest.
The competition, which is sponsored by the Stock Market Game and is an innovative national writing competition that adds a critical thinking component to help reinforce economic and financial concepts learned in the classroom. InvestWrite builds a bridge between classroom learning and the real world. The students are taught by Nicole Misuraco.
