Wayzata High School boys track & field finishes second at state tournament

The Wayzata High School boys track & field team finished second in the 2009 state tournament held at Hamline University June 5 and 6. They had a total score of 52, trailing only Buffalo’s 60. The Trojans finished first in two events: Adam Moline, Evan Day, Max Johnson and Andrew Wasz won the 4×800-meter relay and Jeremy Drenckhahn won the 3,200-meter run. The Trojans also had top finishers in the 3,200 (3rd, Danny Ducharme), the 100-meter dash (6th, A.J. Troup), 1,600-meter run (3rd, Danny Ducharme and 7th, Jeremy Drenckhahn) and the shot put (5th, Rob Bathe).

The girls team placed 21st overall. They had top finishers in the 800-meter run (2nd, Erin Krause), 100-meter hurdles (5th, Emily Stalpes ) and the high jump (9th, Emily Stalpes).
