WEEKLY ROUNDUP: Wayzata.com’s Top 5 Stories of the week, June 1-7, 2009

Good morning Wayzata, and thanks for joining Wayzata.com for the Top 5 Stories of the week. See a YouTube clip of Wayzata High School’s class of 2009 throwing their hats and a picture slideshow provided by John Sucansky at Wayzata High School. Also this week, another Trojan team picks up a state title, a Wayzata High School senior won $1,000 in a video competition (with YouTube video clip), geothermal tests were conducted at Wayzata Bay Center and a car crashes into a house on Rice Street.

Here we go again, the Top 5 stories of the week:

  1. Congratulations to Wayzata High School Class of 2009!!
  2. The Trojans took first place in the Class 3AAA golf tournament at Bunker Hills last week with a score of 606.
  3. Wayzata High School senior Matt Ferro won $1,000 in a video competition advocating the use of seat belts to other teenagers.
  4. A car parked outside the Unitarian Universalist Church on Rice Street crashed into a home when left in neutral.
  5. To prepare for the new Wayzata Bay Shopping Center, geothermal energy tests were conducted on site to determine whether using geothermal energy was feasible. View the slide show, courtesy of Wayzata Bay Redevelopment.

    Honorable Mention: The Wayzata Trojans 13AAA baseball team won the Delano Invitational tournament and the East Neighborhood is to be closed to through traffic.
