Wayzata children and their parents should take note of the Hennepin County Curfew now that an increase in nice weather and the end of school allow for more kids’ free time to be spent on things other than classwork. For children under the age of 12, curfew is 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 p.m. on weekends. For 12-14 year olds, curfew is 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 p.m. on weekends. For those aged 15-17, curfew is 11:00 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends.
Hennepin County’s ordinance about juvenile curfew states that a curfew is intended to “reduce juvenile victimization and crime” and “advance public safety, health, and general welfare.”
