Thursday (May 21, 2009) at 11:30 am, Mahogany Bay and the Wayzata Bay Center have organized a boat parade with 16 classic wooden boats. Included in the parade will be Wayzata Fire Trucks, a musical calliope, and local dignitaries.
The boat parade is a kick off to the Mahagony Bay Vintage Speedboat Gallery that is set to open at the Wayzata Bay Center on May 30th. Among the classic boats is the 1937 54-foot POSH. Wood boat enthusiasts describe the POSH as a National Treasure, and it was featured on the cover of the October 1937 issue of Rudder Magazine.
