The first annual Wayzata East Middle School/Trojan Pride 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held May 29 at 4:15 p.m. The charity event will benefit Soles4Souls, an organization that donates new and gently-used shoes to people in need across the globe. Soles4Souls donated over 1 million pairs of shoes during the Asian Tsunami and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita during relief efforts. Proceeds from the event will also benefit the school.
The run/walk will begin at Wayzata East Middle School, 12000 Ridgemount Ave, Plymouth, at a cost of $15 for students and $20 for adults. Children ages five and younger are invited to participate for free. The entry fees will help sponsor $5 flip-flops and $10 clogs for people in need of shoes.
Those who wish to participate should register by Thursday, May 14. A registration table will be in the 6th grade locker bank from 7:50-8:15 a.m. Forms can also be dropped off at the greeter’s desk at East Middle School between 8:20 a.m. and 3:10 p.m.
