Wayzata High Schools students in the Youth Extending Services (YES) Club recently received a second large donation from The Supreme Master Ching Hai for the district’s H2O for Life project.
On April 17, the students were presented with a check for $20,000 from Hai, a humanitarian leader that has been recognized for her work around the world and in the U.S. According to MaryKay Williams, the YES Club advisor, each dollar raised by the club will be matched by the in-country non-governmental organization Save the Children.
The YES Club had reached its goal of $5,000 to cover the expense of installing a clean drinking water system for Lake Soluton Elementary School in South Cotaboto province in the Philippines. With this second donation, the YES Club is planning to complete water projects in several other schools and countries.
