Ten students from Wayzata High School have placed at the 90th percentile or above on the 2009 National German Exam and four students placed as state winners at the 80th to 89th percentile. The national winners are: Senior John Hackbart; juniors Tom Churchill and Joyce Liu; and sophomores Ganesh Raman, Sarah Porter and Jenna Blake.
State winners are: Seniors Kennan Cross and Jacie Richmond; junior Matti Wuollet; and sophomore Brooks Flugaur-Leavitt.
The students are taught by Barbara Melbye Janssen and Karen Nickel.
