Seven Wayzata High School Students Place in Top 30 in Preliminary Round of MN Brain Bee Competition

From the WHS Parent Communicator:

Seven students placed in the top 30 of the preliminary round of the Minnesota Brain Bee Competition. Michael Borochin (12), Denise Chen (11), Hari Ganti (10), Kavya Nallamothu (11), Ganesh Raman (10), Krishnan Ramanujan (11), and Eddie Walczak (11), will compete in the semifinal round on Wednesday, February 11, at the University of MN.

The Brain Bee is a Q & A competition about neuroscience for high school students. The best young brains are quizzed about the brain and how it relates to intelligence, memory, emotions, sensations, movement, stress, aging, sleep and brain disorders (such as addiction, Alzheimer’s, and stroke).

In 2007, WHS student Melody Hu won the MN Brain Bee and went on to win the national competition. In 2008, Shivani Bhatt was the MN Brain Bee champion.
