From Wayzata Public Schools:
The Wayzata Public School Board approved the district’s 2009-10 school year calendar at its January 14 regular meeting.
In the fall of 2009, the school year will begin September 8, the first Tuesday after Labor Day, and end Thursday, June 10, 2010. According to Director of Curriculum and Instruction Jane Sigford, “When constructing a school calendar, many issues have to be considered.” Testing schedules, conferencing and quarter breaks are all balanced in a manner that reflects sound education practice. The district must manipulate the length of winter break, the timing of spring break and the last day of classes for students and staff so that there are 172 student contact days and 184 teacher workdays.
The district continues to maintain its commitment to have two years of calendars available to the staff and community. A copy of the calendar is available at the following link: WAYZATA MN SCHOOL CALENDAR 2009-2010.
