WEEKLY ROUNDUP: Wayzata.com’s top stories of the week, Nov. 24-30

It was a great week in Wayzata with the local football team winning the State Championship. A truck turned over on Highway 12, and a local resident was sentenced for his break-in and rape.

  1. The Wayzata Trojans Football Team won the Class 5A State Championship over the Blaine Bengals 27-7 in the Prep Bowl at the Metrodome. The team went a perfect 13-0. Read the write-up, view the media report, and scan the 2008 Wayzata Football Schedule with a note about every game.
  2. Semi Truck Over Turns On HWY 12: A construction truck and trailer used in the building of the Long Lake Bypass turned over in the median.
  3. Wayzata resident Christopher Karls sentenced to at least 15 years for a break-in and rape of a young woman near the University of Minnesota.
  4. Wayzata Football Coach Brad Anderson appeared on AM 1500 KSTP and was interviewed by Matt Thomas.
