It was a great week in Wayzata with the local football team winning the State Championship. A truck turned over on Highway 12, and a local resident was sentenced for his break-in and rape.

- Semi Truck Over Turns On HWY 12: A construction truck and trailer used in the building of the Long Lake Bypass turned over in the median.
- Wayzata resident Christopher Karls sentenced to at least 15 years for a break-in and rape of a young woman near the University of Minnesota.
