The Wayzata Fire Department beat the Wayzata Police Department in the annual softball game held at Klapprich Park on Thursday, June 13, 2019.
The annual charity game is presented by the Wayzata Crime Prevention Coalition and is sponsored by Old National Bank. The winning team receives $501, and 2nd place receives $499.

The Wayzata Police Department announced that there will be extra DWI enforcement this weekend in Wayzata–so make sure you get a ride if you are planning a visit to one of the local liquor establishments.

Wayzata Police Chief Mike Risvold put out the following crime alert:
“Several vehicles in the Ridgeview Drive neighborhood were entered overnight. Items were stolen from some. An alert neighbor called 911 immediately after seeing someone in their driveway enter their vehicle around 4:00 AM. Subjects were stopped and identified and the case is under investigation. Do not leave valuables in your vehicles and lock the doors. Report any suspicious activity by dialing 911.”

Wayzata Police Chief Mike Risvold released a prepared statement this morning concerning a burglary that transpired in the Holdridge area, located on the east end of town.
The incident occurred during daylight hours on Tuesday, October 28th, where the perpetrator(s) gained entry into a residence through an unlocked door.
The stolen items were of significant size, requiring a vehicle for their removal.
The burglary took place between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
At present, there is no apparent connection between this burglary and a separate incident that occurred last week on the west side of Wayzata.
Chief Risvold urges residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to secure their homes.
The Wayzata Police Department is actively investigating the matter, and anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to come forward.
