New page makes finding pizza easy

Dan Gustafson of Wayzata.com announced today the launch of www.WayzataPizza.com, Wayzata’s easiest and most convenient place to order a pizza from.

When asked about it, Gustafson had this to say, “You can find the information for any pizza place to call or visit them. We make it easy, simple, and convenient to find eat-in places like Punch, bake at home pizzas from the Home Made Pizza Company, or there are delivery places like Frankie’s and Maggie’s.

Cain’s Minnesota twist is that he spent six years in the late 80s and early 90s working for Pillsbury in Minneapolis and living in Wayzata.

IN THE KITCHEN WITH ELISHA: Easy to Make Vegetable Pizza

If you are looking for an easy and super yummy meal or appetizer veggie pizza is it! Everyone loves flaky crescent rolls and cream cheese. Preparation time QUICK! Your Family and Friends are sure to love this simply delicious and semi healthy recipe!
2 Packages of Crescent Rolls

2 Packages of Cream Cheese – I used the Fat Free

2 TBSP Garlic Powder

2 TBSP Onion Powder

3 TBLS Dill Weed – Fresh or Dried

Your choice of vegetables, I used broccoli, radishes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions and mushrooms.

Spray your baking pan lightly with cooking oil.

Lay the crescent rolls flat in the baking pan, making sure to press the edges together. Bake for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees until golden brown. Take out of the oven and cool.

While your crust is baking, mix the cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder and dill weed in medium size bowl. It is easier and saves time if you use an electric mixer!

Finely chop your vegetables for the pizza, the smaller the size the better.

When your crust is done cooling, spread the cream cheese filling over the crescent roll dough. Top with your vegetables. Serve right away or chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Leftovers can be kept in the refrigerator for 1 day and make a tasty treat!

Serves 6 people if cut into larger pieces or if cut into smaller pieces hors de oeuvres s.

Long Lake and Orono Exits are confusing as you leave Wayzata on Highway 12

The new by-pass on Highway 12 at the west end of town is causing quite a stir for Long Lake and Orono businesses. My wife recently tried to go get a pizza from Papa Murphy’s in Long Lake. She drove out there last week and had trouble identifying which exit to use to get to downtown Long Lake. She’s not the only one who is having trouble.

IOCP Sleep Out 2008: Update on Peter Larson’s progress

Here’s an update from Lenore Franzen about Peter Larson, the young man who has committed to raising $71,125 this year for the IOCP Sleep Out.

From Lenore Franzen, “Peter raised about $3,100 last weekend at Punch Pizza—not quite as much as last year, but it was the night of the big storm and cold. However, I just heard that he is now at $50,000, thanks to an anonymous donation that just came in. Attached is a recent picture of Peter, in case you’d like to include it.
Our overall total to date is $1,060,000, which means we’ll be able to help 498 families with housing needs in the coming year. IOCP will continue to accept donations through January 31, so we are encouraging people to include us in their year-end giving decisions.”

IOCP Sleep Out 2008: Peter Larson and Punch Pizza collaborating to raise funds

From IOCP’s Newsletter, “Touchpoint”:

In the seven years Peter Larson has slept out during The Sleep Out campaign, he has accumulated a lot of nick-names. The Sleep Out prince who raised $50,000, the brave Boy Scout who slept in a cardboard box for 43 nights, an Eleven Who Care award winner, a pizza-loving kid inspired by Bob Fisher to help keep families in their homes.

“This year I want to help 125 families avoid homelessness,” Peter said. “I plan to sleep out every night of the campaign.” To meet his personal goal, he hopes to raise $71,125.

Also back as a major supporter of Peter’s efforts is Punch Pizza in downtown Wayzata. Join Peter and his friends Sunday, Dec. 14, 5–9 p.m. for delicious Punch Pizza! Punch will contribute 50% of its proceeds for the entire day toward Peter’s goal, and will accept donations in a tip jar. Peter’s Boy Scout troop will help serve and staff the event.
