Lions 5M5 District Governor Jan Cariveau presents the Melvin Jones Fellow to Dwight Maxa. |
The Wayzata Lions Club held their annual picnic on July 19, 2011 at the Parker’s Lake Pavilion. The club announced new officers for the upcoming year, and delivered the Melvin Jones Fellow Award to member Dwight Maxa, while enjoying a steak dinner from Village Meets in Wayzata.
“I am proud to be one of the Wayzata Lions that has been selected for the Melvin Jones Award,” said Maxa, “I thank my Lion peers who have chosen me for this important humanitarian service recognition.”
The recognition is for humanitarian work and is awarded to those who donate $1,000 to Lions Club International Foundation. Established in 1973, the fellowship takes its name from Lions Clubs International (LCI) founder, Melvin Jones. The fellowship was established as the highest form of recognition to acknowledge an individual’s dedication to humanitarian service within the club.
Congratulations Dwight!
