PLYMOUTH, MN — Wayzata High School is set to debut its first Faculty Appreciation Night (FAN) as part of the Trojanfootball program on September 26 at 6:40 p.m. during the home game against Minneapolis North.
In a unique initiative, student athletes have nominated 42 esteemed staff members for recognition, acknowledging their significant contributions to the enrichment of Wayzata Public School students’ lives. The honorees will be celebrated during the game, each receiving a golden apple from the athlete who put forth their nomination.
Senior members of the football team, boasting a minimum of two years in Wayzata Public Schools, were tasked with nominating a teacher or district employee who played a pivotal role in providing meaningful guidance throughout their educational journey. Senior Kellen Taylor, a member of the Wayzata boys basketball team, was crowned Homecoming King. Meanwhile, Senior Lauren Wilvers, the vice president of the student council and a Link leader, was crowned Homecoming Queen.
WAYZATA, MN — An accident involving Wayzata High School students on First Student Transportation buses has been reported at County Road 101 and 25th Ave N in Plymouth. The incident unfolded as the buses were traveling south on Highway 101 and had to make an abrupt stop due to a vehicle in front.
Several students sustained minor injuries, with one receiving on-site ambulance treatment. Fortunately, no individuals required hospital transfer. Reports indicate that injuries occurred as students were thrown into seat backs during the incident.
