“For the second straight season, the Wayzata volleyball team found itself in the heartbreaking position of being on the cusp of capturing a state championship, but falling just short to a team with superior talent.
Last year it was Shakopee and its University of Minnesota recruit Ashley Wittman. This year it was Lakeville North and its University of Minnesota recruit Taylr McNeil.
McNeil – who is only a freshman, but has verbally committed to the U of M – recorded 27 kills on 44 swings for a gaudy .568 hitting percentage.”

David Schueller of the Lakeshore Weekly News has written an article on blogs that features Wayzata.com. The article is titled: Keep up the blog work. In the article he says,
“Stepping up from the blog level are sites like http://www.wayzata.com, a new-media news site run by Wayzata resident Dan Gustafson, who’s acknowledged that he puts quite a bit of time into posting on the site and now has staff members, some of whom were formerly employed by this newspaper. It’s impressive to see someone that committed to the effort and to a community.”
Thanks for the kind words, David.
Wayzata.com readers will also be interested to find that Schueller runs a blog on his own titled David’s Spin. It’s interesting to see a reporter give blogging a whirl and write about what they would like to write about, rather than being paid to write about what other people want to read.
Additionally, sports reporter Jon Weisbrod has his own blog titled, Hoops on the Lake, which features area basketball team write-ups and information.

The Lakeshore Weekly News has a real nice article about the water tank that is going to be buried underneath the Tennis Courts at Klapprich Park. The tank will hold 500,000 gallons of water for the City of Wayzata. Other improvements include a new water treatment plant, and a new well house. For Wayzata.com’s original writeup on the September 2nd City Council meeting, click this link.
Rather than try to rehash a football game that has been covered by every media outlet in town including the website you are reading, I figured what would be better is to point you in the direction of the various reports.

The Star Tribune’s Dean Spiros has a piece “Wayzata runs its way to victory” He talks about it being a hog heaven game. Not sure I get the reference.

Jon Weisbrod, of the Lakeshore Weekly News, has a new writeup of the Wayzata Football win over Minnetonka. The article is entitled “Doe, defense carry Wayzata past Minnetonka.” Weisbrod called the Minnetonka team “mammoth.”
