Andrew Mullin

Wayzata Mayor Andrew Mullin

Andrew Mullin is the mayor of Wayzata. Elected in November 2024, he took office in January 2025 after previously serving eight years on the Wayzata City Council, from 2009 through 2016.

A longtime Wayzata resident and local business owner, Mullin returned to city government after a campaign focused on property taxes, traffic, public safety and residents’ access to City Hall. He defeated Barry Petit and Jeff Buchanan in the 2024 mayoral election.

As mayor, Mullin has advocated restraining increases in the city’s property tax levy while reviewing spending and funding for police, fire and infrastructure. He has also held informal meetings with residents at the Wayzata Bar & Grill, known as Muni Meet-ups, and launched a Mayor About Town video series featuring local businesses and community members.

Mullin discussed city finances, public safety, housing and redevelopment in his 2025 State of the City address. His positions and council decisions have been covered regularly by Wayzata.com.
