The Wayzata DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) will be closed to the public until further notice.
The city says it is due to unforeseen circumstances related to COVID-19 and the closing is a precautionary measure.
Former Wayzata DMV employee Brenda Streif will appear in court later this month after being fired for allegedly stealing around $7,000 in cash, as reported by the Lakeshore Weekly News.
According to City Manager Al Orsen, a point of sale system has been implemented to prevent this from happening again. “It provides an additional cross-check that wasn’t in place before,” Orsen said.
