“In a battle of two of the top boys swimming and diving teams in the state, Wayzata fell to Minnetonka at home by a score of 100-84. The Trojans 200-yard medley relay team consisting of Nathan Carr, Noah Landry, Max Carter, and JP Kirchner earned a first-place finish of 1:35.38. Jerry Lou also took first in the 200-yard IM, clocking a time of 1:57.71. In the 100-yard butterfly, Nathan Carr scored six points for the Trojans with a time of 49.91 seconds. The Wayzata boys swimming and diving team secured the section 5AA championship, winning by a 371-point margin. The Trojans earned wins in eight of the twelve events, including sophomore Nathan Carr’s section record-breaking 100-yard butterfly that he clocked in 50.06. Carr broke his own record that he set last year in the section 5AA final. Osseo’s Mason Krings took first place in the 100-yard backstroke and the Orioles’ Alex Kosel won an exciting finish to the 500-yard freestyle. Wayzata finished the meet with 657 points, Maple Grove took second with 286 points. Via CCX Media.
