Another spring week in Wayzata brought plenty of smiles to faces as people strolled Lake Street with temperatures above 50 degrees last week. The City Council weighed some East Neighborhood traffic plans, Tom Petters continues to make headlines in his fraud case, and much, much more. - The City Council weighed plans to reduce traffic in the East Neighborhood and decided on temporarily closing East Circle Drive at Lake Street, as well as LaSalle at Bushaway to study the effects on the neighborhood. - Tom Petters can’t stay out of the spotlight with his ponzi scheme fraud charges. Now his attorneys want to quit, and the FBI is alleging that Petters admitted guilt in a Las Vegas hotel room as he was being questioned.
- In beauty pageant related news, Maddy Thoele (Miss Wayzata) was crowned Miss Minnesota International 2009, and Reigning Mrs. Minnesota, Wendi Russo, appeared at Wayzata High School during a Spring Orchesta Recital to promote arts funding.
