Senior pitcher Anna Twinem had quite an afternoon on Wednesday. Twinem stifled the Edina Hornets as she threw a two-hitter and struck out ten batters as the Trojans won their sixth straight game with a 6-0 victory.
It was the third shutout of the season for Twinem who has now struck out 70 batters in 55 innings of work. She has given up just seven earned runs all season for an earned run average of 1.15.
While Twinem was certainly dealing from the pitching circle on Wednesday, she didn’t look too shabby in the batters box either. The senior went 3 for 3 at plate and drove in a run to improve her batting average to .450 for the season.
Senior Allie Siu was also perfect at the plate as she went 4 for 4 with two RBI’s to raise her batting average to .483 for the season. Junior Chloe Rod also had a solid day by going 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.
The Trojans will try to make it seven straight victories on Friday when they travel to Robbinsdale Armstrong for a 4:15 p.m. start.
