Included in the events are: Baker Boo at the Baker Park Reserve, Halloween at the Creek at the Plymouth Creek Center, Halloween Farm Fun at Gale Woods Farm, Amazing Pumpking Carving at the Lowry Nature Center, Camp Manitou Haunted Hayrides at Camp Manitou, and many more.

Got an email from Aaron Wulff, (General Manger) today about The Rose Ensemble’s upcoming performance at Wayzata Community Church. It is scheduled for October 12th, 2008 at 4:00 pm. According to Aaron’s promotional material, the program is “Celestial Harvest: Music for the End of Time,” a concert of medieval and Renaissance vocal works depicting the end of the world as imagined by composers through the ages. A free presentation will begin one hour prior to the show.

AARP will be presenting a defensive driving course on Wednesday, September 17th and Thursday, September 18th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.. Class sizes will be limited, so register early. You can do so by calling Patti Westerdahl at 952-476-7873. The classes will be held at Wayzata City Hall Council Chambers, at 600 Rice Street. A light supper will be provided and the cost is $18. The event is sponsored by the Wayzata Crime Prevention Coalition.

The Wayzata Historical Society will be making a presentation on Thursday, October 2 with a program on Lake Minnetonka History 1900-1950. The Excelsior, Deephaven and Wayzata Historical Societies will highlight the five decades where the small villages around the lake increased in population and vitality to become small cities. The 20th Annual Wells Fargo Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon took place on Sunday, May 4th. Kevin O’Connor was the first place finisher with a time of 1:17:13. Kate Tavakley was the first woman across the finish line at 1:30:39.
It was a beautiful day to run from Wayzata to Excelsior. It of course, started in the parking lot of Wells Fargo in Wayzata. The course goes down Superior Boulevard, down Lake Street, along Ferndale, takes a jog at Shoreline Dr, heads out along Fox Street. From there it continues to Old Crystal Bay Road, to North Shore Drive, to Manitou and then head into Excelsior.Reports from the event indicate racetime temperatures were 45 degrees at the start, and 50 degrees at the finish, with winds about 10 – 15 mph.For 2008 Wells Fargo Half Marathon Results, click here.Image courtesy http://harmerphotos.blogspot.com & Todd Rowe.
