Lee Brice to perform at private residence on Wayzata Bay to benefit veterans

Country Superstar Lee Brice will perform a benefit concert on Saturday, August 6th, 2022 from 5pm to 10pm at a private residence on Lake Minnetonka / Wayzata Bay.

The event is being held by Folds of Honor, a nationwide non-profit organization that supports injured and fallen veterans and their families by providing educational scholarships.

According to the release, Folds of Honor has awarded over 35,000 scholarships in all 50 states.

Lee Brice is an American singer and songwriter signed to Curb Records.

Brice has released five albums:

Wayzata 4th of July events, plus Excelsior Fireworks on Lake Minnetonka

Can you believe the Fourth of July celebration is here already? Whether you live in the Wayzata area or are in town to enjoy Lake Minnetonka for the weekend, there is no shortage of activities to enjoy this Fourth of July.

Kiddie Parade – 10 a.m.

The annual Kiddie Parade kicks off the Fourth of July at 10 a.m. The parade route will travel one square block starting on Park Street and Broadway Avenue. Kids, accompanied by an adult, will walk, bike and trike along the parade route or cool off with a popsicle and watch. The parade also features an antique fire truck from the Wayzata Fire Department.

Mini Olympics – 12:30 p.m.

Children 12 and under compete in the Mini Olympics at 12:30 p.m. at Wayzata Middle School. Hosted by the Wayzata Fire Department, the Mini Olympics will include contests such as races, softball throw and broadjump.

Flying Pancake Breakfast – 8 a.m. – noon

The Lake Minnetonka chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host the 16th annual Flying Pancake Breakfast at the Depot. Come try to catch your breakfast as flapjacks fly at 10 a.m. Breakfast, served by Chris Cakes of Iowa, costs $9 and will follow a short flag-raising ceremony. Fill your bellies with pancakes and your minds with knowledge of American history at the Daughters of the American Revolution booth.

Excelsior Fireworks – 9:50 p.m.

Finish your Fourth of July celebration with a “Bang!” with the fireworks show at Excelsior Bay. Watch on from land or the lake while the dazzling display takes over the night sky at 9:50 p.m. Can’t make it to Excelsior Bay? Don’t worry. The show can be seen from several bays on Lake Minnetonka, including Wayzata Bay!
Wayzata Chilly Open Schedule 2022

Stretch, train, assemble your squad! The 38th Annual Chilly Open, the largest most well-known and unusual golf tournament held on a frozen lake, will be here in just a few short days. What started as a small crazy idea on how to have a little fun during the coldest month of the year has evolved into one of Minnesota’s most unique winter events. We are looking forward to hosting 1,800 golfers, in themed Olympic costumes and bar sleds, hitting tennis balls with hockey sticks and tee ball bats. 27 hole sponsors will decorate and host three-9 hole courses. This is a winter festival you won’t want to miss.

Cinema & Skates ($10 | LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE!) – Thursday and Friday, February 10 & 11, 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Skate the Lake! Experience Lake Minnetonka’s infinity skating loop – a 45,000 sq. ft on-ice venue. It’s perfect for a date night or a night of family fun! So bundle up, bring your skates (or a lawn chair) and enjoy music or one of the featured films on the big screen while skating Wayzata Bay (Thursday – Cool Runnings & Friday – Frozen). Tickets are required and limited per session. Two Hour Ticket Reservations on sale now until each session sells out. NEW this year – The Fab Tap will be on the ice selling hot cocoa, hot cider, and treats. Admission is $10 per person

Snowga (open to public) – Saturday, February 12, 9:00 a.m.

Namaste on Wayzata Bay … Come Snowga with us! Anyone can do Hot Yoga, but only true Minnesotan’s can say they have done SNOWGA (yoga on the ice) yoga on the ice). First 100 attendees will get a complimentary Crisp & Green beanie, along with free heated agua frescas. Bring your own mat and winter gear and start the day with free yoga flow. Access to the on-ice venue is through Depot Park. Free and Open to the Public.

Golf Tournament (SOLD OUT!) – Saturday, February 12, Tee Times: 10 am, 12 noon & 2 pm. Theme: The Olympics

In true Olympic fashion, the 2022 Golf Tournament broke a record and sold out of all tickets a couple of weeks ago! Golfers will play a round, head to the 19th Hole tent and enjoy live music by ”PowerTap” band on the Edina Realty stage while tasting some of the best chili from over 10 local restaurants competing in the Chili Cookoff Contest. The 2022 celebrity judges include: Stephanie March, Paul Buttenhoff, Cody Matz, Chef Amalia Moreno Damgaard, and Erik Eastman.

2011 Wells Fargo Half Marathon photos

The 2011 Wells Fargo Half Marathon started in downtown Wayzata this morning on Superior Street. The weather was wicked with wind gusts of 30+ mph, and a few snowflakes as well. Serve Weekend – Reaching out to the needs of others

April 5th, 2011

Help fill a semi-trailer with gently used furniture and house wares, Apri1 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church Long Lake. Your tax free donations will benefit Bridging, a nonprofit organization distributing goods to area families in transition.

Bridging needs bookcases, desks, dressers, mattresses, box springs, dishes, pots and pans, toys, clocks, kitchen and table linens. Please refer to trinitylonglake.org for more specifics as Bridging has a list of unable to accept items. More than 6,000 families yearly receive an entire household of furniture through contributions.

Serve Weekend
This donation drive is part of SERVE Weekend where some two hundred volunteers will help at 12 organizations. Folks will pack meals for Japan, write cards to soldiers, prepare breakfasts and lunches for those and entertain residents of Bryant House with a dog show.

CMS students will perform ‘Seussical Jr.’ spring musical

March 2nd, 2011

Students at Central Middle School will be performing “Seussical Jr.” for the school’s spring musical in March.

Performance dates are Friday, March 18 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 19 at noon and 7 p.m. The show is reserved seating and all tickets for the show are $8. Tickets are available in the school’s front office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every school day; at conferences on March 1 and 3 from 4 to 7 p.m.; in the school store on March 15-18 from 7:35 to 8:20 a.m. and March 17-18 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; and in the ticket booth in the auditorium one hour before each performance.

“ Seussical Jr.” is a musical based on the works of Dr. Seuss. It is a new, full-length book musical with a story that weaves together the most famous tales and characters in unexpected ways.

2011 Wayzata Chilly Open

“ROCK OUT” on Lake Minnetonka Saturday, February 12, 2011

Since 1984 hundreds of golfers from all around the metro area have gathered on Lake Minnetonka in February to participate in the Wayzata Chilly Open. Saturday, February 12, 2011 marks the 27th annual frozen golf tournament on Wayzata Bay.

Golfers play nine holes of frozen golf with tennis balls on one of two courses, sponsored by Roger Fazendin REALTORS, Inc. and Lawngevity Lawn & Snow and Outdoor Excapes. This year Wayzata will “ROCK N’ ROLL” out on the ice! Each of the 18 golf holes will represent a different rock group or era. Participants will enjoy all the food, fun and frozen festivities this great event has to offer!

To keep the golfers warm during this “chilly” event, all-you-can-eat chili will be available at the Chili Cook Off. Wayzata Area Restaurants will compete for the best chili recipe at the 19th Hole, sponsored by Edina Realty – Wayzata/Lake Minnetonka. Golfers will also enjoy live music by a local favorite – LIVEWIRE, which is sponsored by Village Chevrolet from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Spectators are welcome!

Get ready for delectable appetizers, luscious wine, and plenty of shopping and merriment at the Wayzata Bay Center Indoor Farmers’ Market Friday, Dec. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“The market is normally a Saturday-only event, but by extending it to Friday, visitors can enjoy a unique evening shopping experience as well,” market manager Julie Butler Faulkner said.

The Dec. 17-18 market is the third holiday indoor market of the year at the Wayzata Bay Center. The October and November events drew crowds of more than 1,000 people, including Minnesota’s former governor Arne Carlson and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak.

“Wayzata has a great farmers’ market that is made all the better by the fact that it lies within a short distance of some of the best farms in Minnesota,” Rybak said. “I look forward to visiting it again because I’d much rather drive to Wayzata for fresh, homegrown Minnesota food than to have food shipped in from around the world.”

People who’ve been to the Wayzata Bay Center Indoor Farmers’ Market say it offers a welcoming atmosphere and unmatched product quality.
“One local resident even stocks up on vendor goods to take with her when she winters in Florida,” Faulkner said.

Children’s photos with Santa, live music, and Christmas carolers make the Wayzata Bay Center Indoor Farmers’ Market a family-oriented event that’s perfect for party planning ideas and thoughtful holiday shopping.

“We have such a unique selection that people will easily be able to find gifts for everyone on their list,” Faulkner said.

Pack 283 Toys for Tots Drive!!

On December 13th Cub Scout Pack 283 in Wayzata will be collecting new unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots.

Donations will be accepted at Wayzata Community Church, 125 Wayzata Blvd East. Toys will be collected from 6pm to 9pm in the church gym. Please help support the Pack as they help those in need this Christmas season.
