Dive into the origins of “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” crafted by an English priest in France, who, due to language barriers, composed the lyrics in Latin. The concert will feature not one but two renditions of the enchanting “Coventry Carol,” one from 1591 and another from 1913. As if that’s not intriguing enough, the program will also include a carol boasting 4th-century text, 16th-century music, a 20th-century translation, and a late 20th-century arrangement — a true amalgamation of centuries in a single musical masterpiece.
