City begins removal of Ash trees to manage Emerald Ash Borer

The City of Wayzata announced recenlty that the City’s tree contractor, Emery’s Tree Service, will start the removal of the poorly rated Ash Trees on Broadway Ave. N. (just north of Wayzata Blvd.) starting at about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26.

The contractor will remove the trees from one side of the street and then move to the Ridgeview Dr. area and return when done to remove the poorly rated ash trees on the other side of Broadway Avenue North.

It’s anticipated that all 32 ash trees marked for removal will be removed by the end of Tuesday. Removal will continue on Wednesday morning if necessary. Emery Tree Service will also start grinding out the tree stumps on Wednesday.

Restoration work (backfilling with black dirt and seeding) will be completed by the City of Wayzata Parks Department.
