Wayzata Women’s Chorus seeks singers

Do you have a passion for singing a great variety of fabulous music including Classical, Spirituals, Jazz and Pop?  The Wayzata Women’s Chorus is looking for experienced choral singers in the Twin Cities area who share our passion for music and are available to rehearse Monday evenings starting September 12th for the 2011-2012 Season.  Rehearsals start at 7:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 3965 Co. Rd. 101, Plymouth, MN .  Please come a bit early to get music and register.  (Rehearsals are every Monday from 7:00 p.m.-9:15 p.m. at Peace.)  The WWC performs two major concerts each year along with numerous outings.

This award winning chorus is directed by Carole Birch and accompanied by Mary Fadden. The Wayzata Women’s Chorus competed in the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales in July, 2011.  They placed fifth in the world in the Female Folk Category and ninth in the world in the Classical competition.  This was an exciting and wonderful opportunity for the Chorus!  They previously earned a bronze award at the Salzburg Music Competition.  It is well respected both for the depth and breadth of its repertoire and the quality of its sound.

The 2011 holiday season will bring two dynamic choruses together.  The Apollo Male Chorus has invited the Wayzata Women’s Chorus to join them in their holiday concerts on Saturday, December 3rd at Hamline University at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, December 4th at the Hopkins Center at 3:00 p.m.  Watch for more details.

We look forward to welcoming new singers to the Wayzata Women’s Chorus rehearsals!  Please call Carole Birch at 952-473-8029 with any questions you might have.

We are now taking bookings for the Holiday season.  If you’d like to book the Wayzata Women’s Chorus for your event, please contact Lenore Miller at 952-484-8835 or lenoremiller@yahoo.com.
