Olson, Kenneth “Ken” Longtime resident of Wayzata.
Dearly beloved by family and friends alike, Ken, passed away on Friday August 12, 2011. He just celebrated his 80th birthday with family and friends. Ken was “One of the good guys!” “One of the most honorable gentlemen we know”.
Born July 28, 1931 He went to Henry High School, the U of M, was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and served in the military during the Korean War. Ken was a small business man who had a wholesale apparel company that spanned more than 55 years. He was a 2nd generation Rag Peddler, his father Palmer was in the apparel business as well.
Preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Clara and step-mother, Peggy.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends; wife, Dorothy (Pat) Olson who were married for just shy of 52 years; sons, John and wife Ann, Mark and wife Sandra, Bill and wife Doneta; grandchildren, Maggie, Jack, Chase, Amilya and Kendell; sister, Marlys Christoferrson, other loving relatives, the Ridgeview Drive Gang, the ROMEO Club (Retired Old Men Eat Out), and countless others that he touched in many ways.
Funeral service 11 AM Friday, August 19, 2011 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 115 W. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata. Visitation 5:30-8 PM Thursday at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata and one hour prior to the service at church.
Interment Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics or to Camp Idihopi.
