Three incumbents and one challenger have filed for Wayzata School Board

Joan Curtiss, Wayzata resident, has filed for the first time.

Also filing for open seats are Current Wayzata School Board incumbents, Linda Cohen and Jay Hesby, and Vice Chair Carter Peterson.

One current seat holder that will not file, Wayzata School Board Chair Patricia Gleason. Gleason has decided not to run for reelection.

Those interested in filing must have their affidavit of candidacy filed with the school district clerk, and have a filing fee paid by August 16th, at 5 p.m. Those filing, will find their information packets at the office of the school district clerk, 210 County Rd. 101 N, Wayzata.

A candidate must be a resident of the school district for 30 days prior to the general election, be an eligible voter, 21 years of age when filing, and they may not have any other affidavit on file for any office during the primary or general election.

Terms for Gleason, Peterson, Hesby, and Cohen end this year. Filing ends tomorrow, August 16th, at 5 p.m. The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 8th.
